Circle of Healers
If you are participating in the non-memey Healer Questionnaire, you may want to bookmark this post, as this is where I will be keeping track of people who have responded and posted their own answers. Consider it like a Chain Heal... it started with me and went to someone else who will hopefully send it to someone else, and so forth. My hope is that no matter how far out that chain heal extends, I can maintain a list of all the responders here! (See what I did there Zigi? That was for you!) Hopefully the survey will experience some Wild Growth. Ha ha I'm so full of funny. Okay, bad puns aside....

If you know of someone who has responded who is not included on this list, please let me know via comment! Also, if you do post a questionnaire response, it would be great if you linked back to this post so that others can also see who all has answered.

Once this post was linked from WoW Insider, the amount of traffic quickly surpassed my ability to keep up with all the responses (not that I'm complaining!). That having been said, I will continue to try and keep track of the people who have responded on their blogs, as long as you comment and leave me a link! There are also a lot of people who have left their responses in the comments section below, so be sure to check it out.

ETA: Hey look! Koriel at What is Boom started a Circle of Tanks!

ETA: If you are looking for responses in French, pop on over to wowfrostmage, where the generous proprietor has assembled a list - merci!

Holy Priests (Most of us roll Bubbly on occasion):

Disc Priests:

Resto Shammies:

Resto Druids:

Holy Paladin

Overachievers who have too many healers:
Fire Mage: Wait, what? Oh you silly gnomes. First you think you can tank, and then you think you can heal! There's a resto shammy in there somewhere too, but that gnome is stealing all the limelight.

Some time this weekend I am going to totally geek out and... /cue dramatic music.. ANALYZE TEH DATAZ

Stay tuned! I'm trying to keep this updated as quickly as possible! If you notice someone is missing, and it's been more than 24 hours since they posted, please shoot me an email to let me know -> elimeny at gmail dot com.

Thanks!

  30. Charles Says:

The proper plural for "shaman" is "shamans". The word originates from a term used by the Tungus people of Siberia, and as a result is not subject to the same rules of pluralization as "native" English words. WoW has examples of it being pluralized in both ways.

  31. Anonymous Says:

This is not the type of thing we'd typically post over at PPI so I'm posting here instead, hopefully you can use it for your data.

    * What is the name, class, and spec of your primary healer?
    Elnia, Restro Druid
    * What is your primary group healing environment? (i.e. raids, pvp, 5 mans)
    Five Man Heroics exclusively
    * What is your favorite healing spell for your class and why?
My favorite spell is Healing Touch, it goes back to the days when I healed as a Boomkin. But the spell I think is most useful is Wild Growth because it solves so many healing needs in 5 man heroics. I actually think in that environment it really is over powered.
    * What healing spell do you use least for your class and why?
Tranquility because it utility is so limited. After the obvious I would say right now Lifebloom.
    * What do you feel is the biggest strength of your healing class and why?
I think the biggest advantage of playing a druid healer is flexibility. We can do so much. I think we are the ideal five man healer.
    * What do you feel is the biggest weakness of your healing class and why?
In terms of class mechanics in a five man environment, none. In PvP battlegrounds I think we have way too little survivability.
    * In a 25 man raiding environment, what do you feel, in general, is the best healing assignment for you?
I have never been in a 25 man raid.
    * What healing class do you enjoy healing with most and why?
    Never healed with another healer.
    * What healing class do you enjoy healing with least and why?
    See above.
    * What is your worst habit as a healer?
My worst habit as a healer is forgetting to use my whole toolbox to keep the group alive. I think it's easy to fall into habits and then when things go astray to forget that that I do have Tranquility or some other spell I almost never use.
    * What is your biggest pet peeve in a group environment while healing?
The fact that the healer is always to blame for a wipe.
    * Do you feel that your class/spec is well balanced with other healers for PvE healing?
I honestly don't know enough about other classes to say.
    * What tools do you use to evaluate your own performance as a healer?
I don't use any healing addons. Mostly it's self-referential. Was I using all of my toolbox and making good decisions. If I was, that's all I can ask of myself. If I wasn't the results are usually obvious.
    * What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about your healing class?
That we are all played by women. I suppose it doesn't help that I play a female toon either.
    * What do you feel is the most difficult thing for new healers of your class to learn?
It has been said before by others but bears repeating. Druid healers are anticipatory healers, not reactive healers.
    * If someone were to try to evaluate your performance as a healer via recount, what sort of patterns would they see (i.e. lots of overhealing, low healing output, etc)?
Overhealing to the max. That's the way it is supposed to work. Using recount to evaluate Druid healing is stupid.
    * Haste or Crit and why?
A mix. Healing five mans (assuming the group is not over powered) really requires a balance between having large heals and fast heals. I'm leaning more towards crit right now because I've Glyphed Healing Touch to give me the speed I need and then working on getting those to crit. The downside to this approach is that if I get a run of bad luck I can go OOM and then sometimes it's a wipe.
    * What healing class do you feel you understand least?
Having never healed with another healer nor played another healer, all of them!
    * What add-ons or macros do you use, if any, to aid you in healing?
    None.
    * Do you strive primarily for balance between your healing stats, or do you stack some much higher than others, and why?
I stack spell power but then it's a balance between the rest.

I do not know enough to blog about my healers, but I have been posting at plusheals lately and learning more about my chosen classes. My ocd side gave a twitch, though, about the plural of shaman... it is shamans. I feel like I am misusing it every time, but I had to go check it out, and that's what it is.

I have a resto druid and a resto shaman and I love them both. I've enjoyed reading the responses you've gotten to this thing so far!

  54. Spazmoosifer Says:

Put in my two copper over at http://spriestblog.weebly.com

A bit of a different take, seeing as how I am primarily a shadow priest, but I do like to dabble w/ holy.

  55. Fenrismarte Says:

What is the name, class, and spec of your primary healer? BornToHeal (formelly Iraetsrran), Discipline Priest (mostly Holy – but i think jessabelle like when i go disc in raids)
What is your primary group healing environment? (i.e. raids, pvp, 5 mans) Discipline works better in raids, 5-man is a holy job.
What is your favorite healing spell for your class and why? Power Word: Shield! In the begging... there’s a shield... then the raid ignore 3% damage, haste you, heal the target and... Probably some mana in the end... oh yes! I can cast a second spell since PWS is a instant cast.
What healing spell do you use least for your class and why? Holy Nova – unless you’re fighting side by side with your party.
What do you feel is the biggest strength of your healing class and why? Mana regen: is really hard waste all my mana (30k self buffed)
What do you feel is the biggest weakness of your healing class and why? You need lots of Spellpower – my heal size is 30% less than holy.
In a 25 man raiding environment, what do you feel, in general, is the best healing assignment for you? Tank heals – i can protect, heal fast, pain suppression... and give some shields at other people and better – no oom.
What healing class do you enjoy healing with most and why? Holy is the power – AoE healing is awesome.
What healing class do you enjoy healing with least and why? Another discipline – one is good – two is a waste of shields.
What is your worst habit as a healer? Think that I’m a mage and can dps a little because no one need heals.
What is your biggest pet peeve in a group environment while healing? Ok! Inc in 3...2...1... Ah... wait... ok.. Now! (And in meantime... i buffed all Shields, put some extra buffs and... lost all – then we go)
Do you feel that your class/spec is well balanced with other healers for PvE healing? Disc is a combo, but heals need more power.
What tools do you use to evaluate your own performance as a healer? No one dies? Good. I use recount to see my heals, overheals and dispels, DrDamage to ensure efficiency. I don’t read the battle log – just recount graphs.
What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about your healing class? That we heal (lol), we shield, and if you need we heal.
What do you feel is the most difficult thing for new healers of your class to learn? Disc don’t do a good job in heroics, and new healers can find that only holy priests are good. Is another way to heal: prevent damage
If someone were to try to evaluate your performance as a healer via recount, what sort of patterns would they see (i.e. lots of overhealing, low healing output, etc)? Pfff! If you look you will see no heals! OMG is the worst healer! Low HPS (usually 1500)… but everyone is alive. And very very little overheals.
Haste or Crit and why? Spell power! Ok… crit – borrowed time give the haste boost – we need just some crit.
What healing class do you feel you understand least? Paladins.
What add-ons or macros do you use, if any, to aid you in healing? VuhDo for heals, some macros for better targeting. Mik Scroll battle text to let more clear the messages and Natur to control cooldowns.
Do you strive primarily for balance between your healing stats, or do you stack some much higher than others, and why? I stack in stats that I need but my talents don’t help – like spellpower.
