In case you are interested (and please, pass it on!) Koriel over at What is Boom took the Healer Survey and converted it for tanks - so if you have a tank and like filling out and posting these surveys, try a Circle of Tanks!
OMG, I will start it? I know how to do the dps. I am a mage, druid, and shaman dps, and I love playing with the mages and the druids and the shamans, I like the locks too even tho they hate me, I do hate rogues, idk why.
Sorry, couldn't help myself. :) I succumbed to the temptation and 'started' it as well. If people want to fill it out there or on their own, I'll link to them.
DON'T YOU FILL IT OUT NOW!!! :)
Good work again Jess and to Kor for keeping it going.
I've found it interesting and entertaining...
I raid as dps primarily, but also have raided a fair bit with a healer and tank.
I find it interesting to read others' perspectives on all three (beyond the silly and sophmoric - and ultimately uninteresting - 'deeps r hard')
jess can u please delete the one i posted above before fuubaar please thanks! it was an offtopic comment and i deleted that post, was advertising my latest blog post which titled "you will follow" i deleted it so no reason to post it here Thanks!. lol
and delete this too please after thanks! sorry for the bother >.<
I raid as a dps just as much as a healer, and dps is not as easy as those healers would find it if they have never tried it. I mean yeah if we die no one cares, but seriously it isn't the easiest thing in the world either. I think tanking is the hardest, then dps, then healing. But I have always found healing easy sorry!
And I have done all the roles in raids so I can say that right? Well, I don't think I want to take part in the dps questionnaire it is too general and vague, I mean dps don't need to understand each other just need to compete with each other =)
are you sure it's a good idea to come onto a healer blog comment section and insult healers missy? You speak as though we don't know how to dps, when the vast majority of the healers round these parts are also quite capable of doing dps... Most people who are blogging about healing simply prefer it healing to dps. Also, young lady, if healing is so easy, then why were you so hesitant to heal for ulduar 25 whne you said you just didn't feel like you were geared wel enough for it? Sounds like it's pretty easy, so really, being a little subpar gear wise shouldn't be a problem!
Miss Kelly, is there anything you aren't awesome at? ;)
I've raided through T9 content in all three roles as well.
I find main tanking bosses the easiest by far in the sense that you have to know when to use cooldowns but other than that, just stand there and take it! :) If you've done your legwork you should have a decent spec and gear. Use your abilities in the correct sequence to keep agro, and that's it! :)
Healers have frequent target switching and prioritization decisions constantly.
DPS have to maximize their ability use constantly and work around potentially life ending events. It's actually the most spammy playstyle for me.
In 5-mans, however, healing is easiest as long as I'm with a tank I know (and is decently geared), dps is next since I overgear the content, and tanking is hardest as trying to keep multiple mobs on me with uber dps is a challenge and headache. :)
I suppose everyone likes different things. I enjoy healing but I get into a zone into where I am just keeping people alive, it becomes second nature to me.
When I am doing my dps I have a tendency to watch things going on around me, and I am usually forced to move around a lot.
Keep in mind my main healer is a druid healer and I can basically run around 90% of the time I am healing, this makes my class sooo much easier to play in many fights where you have to move. On my shaman I am starting to see what people mean by the challenge of healing, I mean I have to stop casting and move! I hope you can understand what I have meant, when I say I find healing easy.
As far as tanking goes, Hinenuitepo, when I tank in raids, I am almost always the OT, running around grabbing adds, and once you get the fight down tanking isn't hard, but many fights as a tank you have to know the fight better than other people like where to position the boss and move him around, once you get that down it becomes easy, but if you don't know the fight you can't really pug it in a raid. As a healer I can pretty much pug anything b/c people want me so bad, and I just have to check what to stay out of, not where to position things. For me this is just easier, esp. since I usually do OT and have to know when to expect adds and where they are coming from going to grab them. I enjoy it, don't find it too hard, but harder to me than running around with arms flailing as a tree.
Jess! I think playing a shaman is really helping me understanding healing challenges, seriously I had it easy before with moving so much. Mobility is crazy awesome for raiding, and my shaman I actually have casts... AAHH!
Well in all fairness I think some things are easier for some than others. I've never met anyone as awful as myself at melée. It's so entertainingly horrid that I just continue doing it for amusement.
I think shammies and pallies are some of the hardest healers to play because of reduced mobility compared to other healers. But then again, maybe that's just bc I'm use to my priest! I blame my shrinking hippocampus for my complete lack of spatial awareness and melée ability btw.
I think tanking is the hardest of all - but again that's just because it would be hardest for me. You really need to know he fights, and like, move properly and target properly ::shudder:: my personal nigtmare.
lol. I refuse to do a circle of deeps. For sure.
LMAO! I think I would pee myself from laughter if someone started that.
Hello!
My name is Tamed & I'm a Beastmaster hunter.
DEEPS R HARD!

Eww. Who the hell wants to read that crap? DPS... pffft. Step 1. Stare at recount. Step 2. Spam link to raid. Step 3. Blame the healers.
Teh end.
ahahah, i play a rogue, mage, dk, and was a shadow priest before too. dps yes i agree with miss medicina step 3 is what i hate. LOLx
Fulguralis and Fuubaar.
Sorry, couldn't help myself. :)

@ Hippopotamus
Neither of my 80's are DPS. My Priest who's a Disc & my main who's a Paladin Tank. DPS ain't my style baby :)

It's totally cool Fuu! :)
Love your name btw.
I was trying to find people to tag, and I found it difficult!
The VAST majority of bloggers out there seem to be tanks or healers!
I had no idea until I tried to tag a few... but if you or anyone wants to try it from a dps perspective, give it a shot!
I'll track it as best I can, but I'm pretty sure there's no way I can be as uber as Miss Medecina! ;)
I should have used all my DPS characters to comment on the tanking one - after all, everyone Knows mages are best at holding aggro.
My replies are ... hopefully linked with the name.

Ahhh, catching up after my illness.. ;)
Anyways, couldn't help but see Kelly's comment.
